The 15th Annual Mark Miller Subaru Charity Golf Tournament will be held on October 3rd, 2010, at the Stone Bridge Golf Club  in West Valley City, Utah. 100% of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities . We need 144 players for a 9AM shotgun start.

The cost for Golf, continental breakfast, and Texas BBQ lunch is only $25 per person. We will also be giving away prizes at lunch.

The wing is back! After a three year absence, Subaru is offering a four-door sedan version of the legendary performance icon, the WRX STI. This is the first time that Subaru has ever offered an STI in two body styles. So what do you like more, sedan or wagon?


 

Times still may be tough for the country's automobile industry as it battles through the economic downturn but one Utah dealer is looking toward the bright side and expanding his operations rather than retrenching.

Mark Miller, perhaps best known for the Toyota dealership in downtown Salt Lake City bearing his name, has purchased the Larry H. Miller Subaru dealership in Sandy. The acquisition brings to four the number of locations operated under the Mark Miller name.

"Although we already have a Subaru store [in South Salt Lake], we plan to operate our new Sandy dealership as a completely separate operation with its own general manager, sales and service staffs," Miller said.

After months of roller coaster-like results, the industry in the view of many earlier this month began to show signs of a recovery, with automakers reporting higher levels of U.S. sales.

And the biggest winner was the Japanese automaker Subaru, which saw a 41 percent surge in sales during the month, thanks to exceptionally strong demand for its Outback and Forester models.

"Subaru is the number two-selling car in the Salt Lake City market," Miller said, indicating his South Salt Lake Subaru store is on track for a normal sales year despite the industry's hard times.

Attendance is free, but we are holding a canned food drive for the Utah Food Bank, so bring what you can and have a great time!

During the month of April, we tried something new. For every car we sold, we donated $150 to a local charity of the customer's choice. It was a huge success for everyone involved! We raised over $12,000 and made some new friends along the way. We could not have done this without our customers, and we thank them very much for their business!

The New York Auto Show is underway, and the 2010 Subaru Legacy has made it's first appearance.


The 2010 Legacy will feature some notable changes from the outgoing model, including a 6 speed manual transmission for the 2.5GT as well as a new 3.6 liter H6.



The new Legacy will be available at Mark Miller Subaru later in 2009. Check back often for details.

2008 was definitely a crazy year, while automakers across the board were facing slumping sales, dwindling profits and government bailouts, Subaru wasn't feeling the pinch.


In fact, Subaru was the only automaker to post a sales increase in 2008. Boosted by the redesigned 2009 Forester, Subaru had one of its best sales years ever. Customers appreciated the value that Subaru offers, from the most fuel efficient AWD lineup in America, to the zero landfill plant in Indiana. We want to thank all of our customers for making 2008 a fantastic year here at Mark Miller Subaru. We look forward to servicing your vehicle needs in 2009.

There are few words in the English language which can conjure up as much meaning, and likely so many memories, as these: road trip. We've all been on them before; some are the highlights of your life and some... well, not so much. But having the right vehicle can make all the difference in the world. Thule, maker of "transportation accessories", has added its name to the ever-growing list of companies that have invented an "__ of the year" award. For this particular honor, Thule has broken the automotive landscape in half, dividing its choices for the best vehicle to take a road trip in at the $30 grand mark. Without further ado, the winners are:

• Best road trip vehicle under $30,000: Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited
• Best road trip vehicle over $30,000: Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited

If you really want to read all of the reasons that Thule offers for choosing these vehicles, there's a whole press release pasted after the break. We're not going to argue with their choices, as both the Outback and the Highlander are fine vehicles, which would be suitable for a group of four people and their assorted belongings. Sure beats the old funny-smelling air-cooled VW van that had trouble keeping up with the slow-moving traffic that some of us can remember from our childhood.

"The Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited combines the styling of a sport wagon with great features such as leather interior with heated seats, all-wheel-drive, four cup-holders, three 12v plugs and an mp3 player dock for around $26,000," remarked Tripp Wyckoff, Thule's VP of Sales, Marketing and Service.
