General Manager Chris Hudson joined Daily Dealer Live, hosted by Sam D'Arc on the Car Dealership Guy Podcast, to talk about where AI agents are headed in car buying and what has to happen next for online purchases to get easier.
The Problem With Agents That Cannot Talk
Plenty of retailers and shopping sites now have some form of AI. What they do not have is a shared way for those systems to talk to each other. A buyer's assistant and a retailer's assistant can each be capable and still fail to complete anything together, because there is no common language between them.
As Hudson put it on the show, "the next step is creating systems that allow them to communicate and work together."
The Track Is Already Laid
That work is not theoretical for us. The infrastructure behind Promise Path was built to be shared rather than kept private. "We've got the railway built, it's available," Hudson said. "It's basically a standard that anyone could use, any other dealership."
Why It Matters For Shoppers
For someone buying a Subaru in Salt Lake City or Sandy, the payoff is simple. Standards mean the price you see is the real price, the trade number is a real number, and the steps between choosing a vehicle and taking delivery get shorter. That is the same promise we have made since moving to Promise Price in 2015, now applied to the tools people actually shop with.
