When and Where to Donate

Donations were accepted December 1, 8, and 15 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the nonprofit VOA Youth Resource Center, 888 S. 400 West, in Salt Lake City.

What the Center Needs

The center, which provides emergency overnight shelter and other services to youth ages 15 to 22, needed cash, warm clothing, and blankets. Donations are tax deductible.

Why This One

Winter in Salt Lake is not survivable outside without gear. A warm coat and a blanket are small things to give and large things to receive when you are 17 with nowhere to sleep.

Mark Miller Subaru Named Most Ethical Business at the Utah Ethical Leadership Awards

Nine Utah companies, nonprofits, and government agencies were honored at the third annual Utah Ethical Leadership Awards on September 9, 2016. Mark Miller Subaru was awarded the Most Ethical Business award. Who Gives the Award The awards are presented by the David Eccles School of Business Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, the Daniels Fund, and the Community Foundation of Utah. Why It Matters in Car Retail Auto retail has a reputation problem it earned honestly. An ethics award handed out by a business school and two foundations is a different kind of recognition than a sales plaque, and it is the one we would rather hang on the wall. The Same Idea, Years Later The thinking behind that award is the same thinking behind how we price and sell today: clear numbers, no games, and a process a customer can follow without a decoder ring.
