2019 Subaru Forester vs. 2018 Hyundai Tucson

  • Whether it's a summer drive around South Salt Lake or a winter exploration in Salt Lake City, the new Forester allows you to take on any driving scenario with confidence thanks to standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The new Tucson, however, comes equipped with standard front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive equipped models will hail a higher price.
  • Under the hood, the new 2019 Forester comes equipped with an enhanced 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 182-horsepower. The Tucson comes equipped with a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 164-horsepower.
  • Even with a larger engine at your disposal, the Forester achieves up to an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while the new Tucson falls short with up to 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

  • The Forester provides you with more space than the Tucson does. This year's Forester offers 111.9 cubic feet of passenger volume with up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo space when you fold down the seats. The Tucson, on the other hand, offers up to 102.2 cubic feet of passenger volume and up to 61.9 cubic feet of cargo space when you fold the seats down.

  • The new 2019 Forester comes equipped with a standard Eyesight Driver Assist Technology system with adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane keep assist, and more. The new Tucson offers similar features but they don't come standard.
  • The Forester comes with a standard Starlink multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, providing you with seamless connectivity and control of your mobile device on the go. The Tucson, however, only offers available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
